(Michael Worth rehearses actresses Kacey Clarke and Sonya Davis)
The lesbian-themed romantic comedy Seeking Dolly Parton, which made the festival rounds last year and is releasing under the Gravitas Label this spring, has an official follow up already going into production. Titled The Sugar Moon Tribe, the story, once again from writer/director Michael Worth, picks up a couple years after the original and continues a love story between the two female characters of the first film, Charlie and Cerina. The cast is lead by Kacey Clarke and new addition Sonya Davis as the afore mentioned characters. The rest of the returning cast are Raffaello Degruttola, Michael Worth, Alex Ballar and recent Best Actress winner, 94-year-old Lois Stewart. Also announced are transgendered actress Bambiana of the reality series Transcendent, Tara Egnatios, Jennifer Kamstock and 6-month-old Mack Gamble Bevitz in his feature film debut. The film is produced by CNC Movie Factory and Grizzly Peak Films.

Plot details are currently under wraps but writer Worth reveals the film “takes Charlie and Cerina on a very organic, if somewhat bumpy, journey into a new story that is slightly more ensemble but true to the focus of these two beautiful characters”. Rehearsals began this week in Los Angeles where several photos were just released. Principal photography begins in San Francisco later this month.
