The anticipated return to the fight film genre from actor/director Michael Worth (God’s Ears, Batman Forever) gets a second teaser film. Described as The Wrestler for MMA, The Butterfly Guard focuses on the psychology of two fighters (Worth and Never Back Down 2‘s Scottie Epstein) on opposite ends of the world as they prepare to fight each other.

A drama “about fighters rather than fighting” is how the synopsis is touting the indie feature from Grizzly Peak Films and CNC Movie Factory. Shot in Thailand, Los Angeles and Salinas, California the film also stars former UFC fighter Justin Mccully, Franchesca Agramonte and Tim Thomerson. The release is set for festivals in 2016 and general release in 2017.
