One of Grizzly Peak Films more anticipated titles, “Seeking Dolly Parton”, has been green lit for a follow up film.  The romantic lesbian themed comedy which stars Kacey Barnfield and Anya Monzikova, has been making the festival rounds prior to its limited online rental release September 27 on Vimeo.  Encouraged by the film’s reception writer/director Michael Worth has already agreed to pen and direct the sequel.  “It’s one of those films that was almost by design looking to continue its story,” he says.  “Making this follow up is not about box office receipts since the first film hasn’t at this point made a penny, but because all of us involved feel we have only just begun to tell the story of these great characters from ‘Dolly'”.

Centering around a lesbian couple using an ex-boyfriend as their donor towards a baby, the situation sets up an emotional challenge for all three to confront and deal with before they can move forward.  Worth points out: “I have never tried to do a follow up to any of our films before as unless something organically comes to me, I don’t want to do it because it’s a “gimmick”.  But I think with Dolly, the story lends itself to so much more exploration and the ideas for it came to me almost in my sleep.”

Though no story details are yet available, the shooting title has been announced as “Marmalade Skies” and will begin production in late 2015.  Cast members confirmed to return are Kacey Barnfield, Anya Monzikova, Raffaello Degruttola, Lois Stewart, Alex Ballar and Worth.  Worth is currently in post production on the long awaited comedy, “Bring Me the Head of Lance Henriksen” also from Grizzly Peak Films.
